You need to receive one of the qualifying State Benefits, Tax Credits or other Allowances.
Applications are invited for Cavity Wall Insulation Grants Today.
Notice the different pattern of bricks in each image.
The cavity wall has all of the bricks laid ‘end to end’ so that you see the front face of every brick in the wall.
Whereas the solid wall has some bricks laid ‘through the wall’ so that on some rows you see the end of the bricks.
Cavity Wall Insulation Grants are only available for homes which were built with external cavity walls but which were not insulated and have not been insulated since.
Homes built before 1926 normally had solid walls which cannot be insulated.
Homes built after 1st January 1983 were required to have insulated cavity walls to comply with Building Regulations.
Homes with solid walls, either brick or stone, timber framed properties and those with metal cladding cannot have cavity wall insulation installed.
